On the Weigongcun campus of the Open University of China (OUC), ID cards have been replaced by QR codes; teachers use mobile apps or computers for their teaching or office work; VR (virtual reality) headsets are available in the VR lab; and holographic technology allows a teacher to “project” remotely into a classroom.

In November 2021, a group of expert examiners from the China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) conducted its annual assessment of the quality-management system of the Open University of China (OUC) Press. The group, after examining the materials submitted by the Press, a total of 357 documents, concluded that it has a sound and effective quality-management system that not only meets system standards but is deserving of high praise.

General Secretary Xi Jinping, leader of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government, pays great attention to the role of family in education throughout his governance, and in order to implement his thinking, help foster virtue through education, broaden the horizon of the Preschool Education major, and ensure the quality of its resources, from 20 October to 8 November 2021, the Faculty of Education of the Open University of China (OUC), together with its Learning Resources Department, offered a series of public lectures on family education titled “Lectures by Experts and Famous Teachers on Preschool Education”.
On 11 November 2021, the Faculty of Political Science and Law of the Open University of China (OUC) invited researcher Xie Yahong, deputy secretary-general of Chinese Administration Management Society and editor-in-chief of the journal Chinese Public Administration, to give a lecture titled “Paper Writing from the Editor’s Perspective” to OUC teachers and students.
