On 20 April 2022, the OUC held a summary and commendation meeting for the 7th China International Internet Plus College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and a kick-off meeting for the 8th Competition.

20 April 2022, the start of Guyu, or "Rain of Millet", the sixth solar term in the Chinese lunar calendar, was designated as the 13th UN Chinese Language Day. The Open University of China (OUC) celebrated the event for the first time, organising activities related to writing the 24 solar terms in seal-script style. Ms. Fan Xianrui, vice president of the OUC, attended the event and spoke at the opening ceremony.

The list of 2021 Open University of China (OUC) Outstanding Graduates has been selected and 661 students have been honoured with the title.

On 1 April 2022, the Ministry of Education (MOE) issued a list of “Quality Work Cases” for IT-based assistance of older adults. The project “Interactive Service Platform of the University for Older Adults”, launched by Liaoning Open University (Liaoning OU), was among those listed. It is a collaboration of the Open University of China (OUC) and the China Broadcasting Network (CBN), and belongs to the work of Liaoning OU in implementing education of older adults by integrating the internet with cable TV and offline teaching.

On the afternoon of 12 April 2022, the Open University of China (OUC) held a meeting to strengthen teachers’ ethics within its organisational system, with more than 90,000 teachers in the system participating in the online and offline live learning event.

The outbreak of Covid-19 in Jilin Province moved the Open University of China (OUC) to donate materials for controlling the spread of infection to Jilin Open University (Jilin OU). On 4 April 2022, the materials finally arrived.

On the list of projects funded by the National Publication Foundation (NPF) in 2022, recently released by its Planning and Management Office, two projects of the Multimedia Press of the Open University of China (OUC) Publishing & Media Group were included.

Zhuo Jixiong, 50, is a member of the Communist Party of China. He entered the junior-college Law programme at China Central Radio and TV University in spring 2005, and is now deputy general manager of the Fuding Power Supply Company of State Grid Fujian Electric Power.
