ZHAO Ping, Han ethnicity and a native of Mianyang, Sichuan Province, boasts an impressive array of titles and accomplishments. As a member of the Communist Party of China, he serves as a deputy to both the 13th and 14th National People's Congress (NPC).
He is a senior technician at the Components Plant of Shaanxi Aircraft Industry Company and holds the position of Vice Chairman of the Hanzhong Federation of Trade Unions. Additionally, he is an outstanding graduate of Shaanxi Open University. From February 2014 to November 2020, he was appointed as a senior technical expert in the aviation industry and was honoured with the title of "National Technical Expert." In 2015, he was awarded the title of "National Model Worker," and in 2017, he received special allowances from the State Council. Since November 2020, he has been appointed as a chief technical expert in the aviation industry.
"The true spirit of craftsmanship lies in the dedication and focus of those who meticulously craft their products, integrating their lives into their work and transforming their products into works of art," ZHAO often remarks. His maxims vividly reflect his profound passion for technical craftsmanship and his relentless pursuit of manufacturing excellence.
As a "gold-collar" worker on the production frontline, ZHAO is deeply concerned about the cultivation of skilled workers. However, he has observed a troubling phenomenon in some enterprises: the difficulty in attracting young skilled talent and a gap in the talent pipeline. "An important reason behind this is the lack of close collaboration between schools and enterprises, and the insufficient targeted training of talent. As a result, when graduates enter the workforce, they often struggle to adapt to the needs of the enterprises both mentally and skilfully," he noted.
Consequently, most of the proposals ZHAO has submitted revolve around the core issue of "skilled workers." He actively voices his opinions on school-enterprise cooperation, the cultivation of skilled talent, the establishment of new apprenticeship systems, the promotion of the spirit of craftsmanship, and the development of a qualified skilled workforce. He does his utmost to fulfil his duty in building a country strong in skills.
"I deeply understand that as an NPC deputy, we must not only fulfil our duties and actively offer suggestions and advice, but also continuously learn and improve our own qualities and abilities to better serve the people," ZHAO said. As a new-era industrial worker embarking on the new journey of building a strong aviation nation in the new era, he remains committed to his post, continuously exploring and seeking the truth, and excelling in skill breakthroughs and technological innovation.
