Reflecting on the conclusion of the year 2023, the Open University of China (OUC) has been tirelessly advancing its dynamic initiatives, leaving a lasting mark in the annals of time.

At the beginning of 2024, the Open University of China (OUC) organised a special workshop on enrolment in Changchun City, Jilin Province.

The establishment of the Seniors University of China (SUC) is a pivotal move to meet public expectations and enact a proactive national strategy amid the population ageing trend, in line with the key directives of the 20th National Congress of the CPC.

On 27 December 2023, the "2023 OUC Top Ten News Stories" was unveiled. This event features two categories: the "Top Ten Official News Stories," selected through expert review, and the "Top Ten Popular News Stories," determined by online voting.

In June 2022, the Faculty of Foreign Languages at the Open University of China (OUC) launched the AI-Empowered English Smart Teaching Reform Project.

On 18th December 2023, at 23:59 Beijing time, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck Jishishan County, Linxia Prefecture, Gansu Province. In response to the disaster, the Education Foundation of the Open University of China (OUC) swiftly reached out to the Gansu and Qinghai branches to assess the situation of grassroots education sites in the affected areas and gain insight into the conditions of the teachers and students.
