Waving goodbye to 2021 and striding into the new year, on 30 December 2021 the Open University of China (OUC) held a celebration to welcome 2022 with the theme of "Forging Ahead Bravely and Creating a New Future". Members of the OUC leadership watched the performances, and Cao Guoyong, executive deputy secretary of the OUC Party Committee, delivered a speech.

The range of performances including songs and dances, plays, recitations, and celebrations of the great achievements of the Communist Party of China in the 100 years since its founding, as well as the achievements of the OUC in terms of reform and development. Faculty and staff expressed their love of the Party, the country, and the university, and displayed their eagerness to face the future.

Some faculty watched the performance on-site, while others took in the live broadcast online.
