Everyone has a dream in his or her youth. However, in some cases these dreams are never realized and thus finding a way to realize these dreams has become a lifelong pursuit for many. Stepping into the teaching building of the Radio and Television University (RTVU) in Qiqihar, the first thing you’ll see and hear is beautiful singing and advanced dance postures coming from the dance class. Through classes such as dance, music, electronic organ, calligraphy, Chinese painting, and many more, Qiqihar RTVU helps senior trainees to enrich their senior years and finally realize their former dreams.

Following the signing of the "Tonglu pilot project of the rural development strategy" in October 2014, Alibaba, once again working with Tonglu County, recently joined forces to build a training centre for rural e-business. The centre is located at the School of Tonglu, Zhejiang Radio & TV University (Zhejiang RTVU).

 On December 29-30, 2014, the pilot working conference for the “One College Student per Village Scheme” launched by the Ministry of Education” (MOE) was convened by The Open University of China (OUC) in Changsha, Hunan Province. Representatives from 38 Radio and TV Universities (RTVUs) and Open Universities in provinces and cities throughout China gathered together to summarize their experience and results after ten years of the “One College Student per Village Scheme”, and to discuss measures to further promote the scheme during the progress of the construction of the OUC and the transformation and upgrading of the RTVU system.  

 

In order to promote the integration of information technology and education, and to provide students with easier and faster services, Qinghai Radio and TV University’s (Qinghai RTVU) Learner Support Hall was unveiled on December 4, 2014.

 

In order to promote the application of new technologies and new media in online teaching, the mobile learning platform of Sichuan RTVU was officially launched a few days ago, with the PC version released simultaneously.

At the opening ceremony of 2014 Guangzhou "Lifelong Learning Activity Week" held recently, the learning TV platform for Guangzhou citizens was launched, which offers another choice for them in continuing education.

On November 12, 2014, Fujian Radio and TV University (Fujian RTVU) held the 2nd Micro-Teaching Contest Finals. Luckily, after going through many levels of selection, 20 contestants were selected as finalists among 1,746 participants from the local RTVU system in Fujian Province.

Recently, the Inner Mongolia School for the Disabled under the supervision of The Open University of China (OUC) hosted a Webpage Design and Construction Competition for Digital Media and Production. On November 23, relevant experts were organized to evaluate the entries.
