Tea Culture Performance Art Team of Fujian RTVU made an excellent team "debut" recently at the 2014 Second Fuzhou Tea Industry Expo, winning second prize in the group tea contest, Creativity Award, and Best Tea Seat Design Award. Chen Ye also took home the Award for Best Individual Tea Art.

The performance team is composed of seven members, with "Charm of Jasmine Tea Lingers in Late Autumn" as the theme; with the jasmine tea of Fuzhou (a homonym for "Mo Li" in Chinese Pinyin) as the main tea ceremony. The performance demonstrated each stage of a traditional wedding ceremony, including escorting the bride to the groom's house, meeting the bride, and serving tea for the parents. The performance smartly integrated traditional wedding customs with the artistic performance of tea culture, being accompanied by harmonica, a sand painting performance, narration, bridesmaids dancing, and other forms of art. The performance presented a happy and traditional tea wedding ceremony to the audience, with the fragrance of jasmine tea. In the individual talent show, Chen Ye won great praise from the judges and audience with her solid knowledge of tea culture and wonderful performance of the Hokkien song "Spring Breeze". In addition, the team was also invited to perform at the closing ceremony. Their wonderful performance won acclaim from the experts, leaders, and the audience.

The performance team of Fujian RTVU was formed in early 2013, with team members coming from two majors at the School of Open Education of Fujian RTVU — "Tea Culture" and "Tea Evaluation & Marketing".

Fuzhou Tea Industry Expo is sponsored by the Municipal Government of Fuzhou and Agriculture Department of Fujian Province. The Expo aims to build a high-profile and high quality tea industry exhibition that integrates exhibitions, business negotiations, seminars, and other events. The expo is also supplemented by a variety of colorful supporting theme activities, including team tea art contests, theme discussions on tea culture, tea seat design contests, Chinese tea king competition, etc.
