Beijing 19 April 2026 - The Radio Gymnastics and Tai Chi competitions of the 14th Staff Sports Games of the Ministry of Education kicked off. The Open University of China (OUC) team delivered an outstanding performance, winning first prize in both events. XU Mingjun, OUC Vice President, was present to cheer on the athletes.

At the competition venue, the team members were full of spirit and vigour. Their movements were precise, standardised, smooth and powerful. Their outstanding performance won unanimous praise from the judges and spectators. Winning first prize in both events fully demonstrated the excellent work style and positive spirit of the OUC staff – their courage to face tough challenges and their ability to achieve victory.

The OUC attached great importance to the Sport Games held by Ministry of Education. Members of the OUC’s leadership team actively signed up for several competition events, leading and motivating the entire staff to participate in the selection process and sparking a campus‑wide fitness craze. The staff expressed that extensive participation in various sports not only strengthens the body and tempers the will, but also enhances team cohesion and unity. This initiative also helps to inspire the staff to demonstrate greater responsibility and contribution in serving the construction of a learning society and a learning powerhouse through digitally‑empowered lifelong education, and to contribute more to building a strong education nation.

The fun competition events and track and field events of the Games will be held on 26 April and 30 April respectively.
