Beijing, 24 March 2026 — To promote high-quality development of open education, actively carry forward the spirit of educators, strengthen a high-quality "dual-capability" teaching force, and support faculty members participating in the 6th Beijing Teaching Innovation Contest for College Teachers, the Open University of China (OUC) organised a pre-competition coaching session on 24 March, 2026. An expert team comprising distinguished educators from the Ministry of Education and Beijing-based universities provided tailored guidance to the participating teachers and teams. CAI Zhen, OUC Vice President, attended the event, which was moderated by ZHAO Tingting, Deputy Director of the Department of Student Affairs and Teacher Development.

This activity closely followed competition rules, precisely addressed the preparation needs of participating teachers and teams. It adopted a "face-to-face diagnosis, targeted empowerment" guidance model, and implemented the "one teacher, one strategy" coaching approach. Experts engaged in interactive discussions with teachers and teams on topics such as refining achievement reports, recording on-site teaching demonstration, and presenting innovative outcomes. The event fostered in-depth exchanges in a warm and dynamic atmosphere. Participating teachers expressed that this coaching session boosted their confidence in the competition and played a key role during their contest preparation.
Moving forward, OUC will continue to increase support services for faculty teaching development. Guided by the strategic demands for teacher workforce development, the university will steadily implement its “one core, six dimensions, dual capabilities, twin engines” framework. By fully leveraging the catalytic role of competition in enhancing teaching and research, OUC aims to comprehensively elevate teachers’ dual-capability competencies, deepen open education teaching reform, inject new momentum into the high-quality development of its educational mission, and contribute more significantly to the nation’s drive to become a leading country in education.
