Beijing, 7 January 2026 – ZHOU Qing, Chairman of Sichuan Xinhua Publishing and Distribution Group, led a delegation to visit the Open University of China (OUC, also known as the Seniors University of China, SUC). Vice President of OUC and SUC FAN Xianrui warmly welcomed the delegation. The discussion focused on elderly education, silver economy, collaboration in health-care and educational tourism, and cultural-publishing integration.

Ms. FAN Xianrui briefed them on the SUC’s progress. She highlighted that in its nearly three years since its establishment, SUC has established a nationwide platform for sharing elderly education resource and public services, curated a range of premium courses such as "TCM Master Lectures" and "Art Master Lectures", and launched several national branding initiatives, which made SUC as the mainstay of senior education, the proponent of proactive health, and the catalyst for silver economy.

ZHOU Qing said that as one of China’s top 30 cultural enterprises, the Sichuan Xinhua Publishing and Distribution Group is closely monitoring the new challenges and opportunities arising from demographic shifts. Leveraging its strengths in publishing transformation, market distribution, and study-tour services, the group aims to collaborate with the OUC and SUC to co-develop and disseminate high-quality educational and cultural resources.

The delegation also visited the OUC’s "Internet + University" exhibition centre and the SUC exhibition hall to experience its practices in digital teaching, lifelong education system development, and innovative elderly education.
