OUC has organised the learning activities to celebrate May 4th Youth Day for five consecutive years, garnering positive feedback both within and outside its education system. This year’s event focused on four key words: “Serving the Development of a Learning Society”, “Supporting the National Strategy in Response to Population Ageing”, “Advancing the National Strategy of Education Digitalisation”, and “Contributing to the Strategy of Educational Opening Up.” Youth representatives from OUC branches in Fujian, Hebei, Henan, and Chengdu, and the OUC headquarters were invited to share their stories, fostering a dynamic and collaborative environment across the system to contribute to building a leading country in education.

XU Mingjun encouraged the young faculty and students within OUC education system to thoroughly implement the spirit of the National Conference on Education and the strategic plans outlined in the Master Plan on Building China into a Leading Country in Education. He highlighted the goal to address the two significant questions of our time: "How to Play " and " How to Play the OUC’s Role in Building a Learning Society". He emphasised four priorities. First, to serve the construction of a learning society and strive to be practitioners of lifelong learning. Second, to support the national strategy in response to population ageing and strive to be facilitators of elderly education. Third, to contribute to the national strategy of education digitalisation and strive to be leaders in educational transformation. Fourth, to support the strategy of educational opening up and strive to be active participants in international exchange.

By spotlighting youth representatives from across the OUC education system to share their hardworking stories and personal growth, this event aimed to inspire the younger generation with the powerful call of the times to build a leading country in education. Through vivid storytelling of the people who are around us, it strongly resonated with the theme “Now is the Time to Strive.” The event was broadcast across multiple platforms and attracted over 500,000 views.
