Beijing, 18 April 2025 - At the 2025 Work Conference of the Branch Institutions of Chinese Society for Technical and Vocational Education (CSTVE), the Vocational Education Teaching Resource Repository jointly developed by the Open University of China (OUC) and CSTVE was officially launched. CSTVE President LU Xin and OUC President WANG Qiming attended the Launch Ceremony.
The repository builds on the “Five Golds” Initiative (a nationwide programme focusing on top-tier disciplines, courses, educators, training bases, and materials, as part of the new infrastructure initiative of the modern education system). Since its inception in 2019, this initiative has served as a key tool and platform for CSTVE to support major national strategies, promote high-quality development of vocational education, and advance the “Five Golds” new infrastructure initiative. Over the past years, 41 successful teaching demonstration activities have been organised, bringing together the expertise of over 40,000 teachers from more than 1,000 educational institutions nationwide. Moreover, the initiative covers all 19 major disciplinary categories and general foundational courses, laying a solid foundation for implementation of the 2021 edition of the vocational education programme catalogue and the newly revised (or set) professional teaching standards.
To implement the national strategy for education digitalisation, fully explore, integrate, and showcase the outcomes of the teaching demonstration initiative, and leverage the advantages of high-quality resource consolidation and integration to enable ubiquitous and accessible resource sharing, the OUC, in collaboration with CSTVE, launched the development plan of the teaching demonstration resource repository in an all-round way in 2024.
After a year of design, development, and integration optimisation, the first batch of resources from the teaching demonstration resource repository has been launched online, featuring 926 outstanding case studies contributed by 1,079 teachers from 440 teaching institutions. The resources cover all the 41 teaching demonstration activities and span seven major categories: presenting courses, majors, major clusters, textbooks, teaching scenarios, demonstration classes, and teaching models. The platform supports precise multi-dimensional searches by industry, major, course, teaching institution, and teacher, and offers intelligent recommendations of related resources. Equipped with these functions, it serves as a practical reference for teaching reform, a convenient channel for teacher development, and a platform for educational institutions to exchange ideas to enhance the quality of talent cultivation.
In the future, both parties will continue to promote and expand the reach of the teaching demonstration resource repository, aiming to build it into a practical case repository, a talent hub, and a demonstration platform serving the national vocational education sector and the OUC education system. This initiative will further serve the national strategy and contribute to advancing Chinese modernisation and the development of a leading country in education.
