On 6 April 2023, the second the Open University of China (OUC) "UN Chinese Language Day" event that is to be co-organised by the OUC and the China Printing Museum, held a preparatory seminar at the OUC.

Fan Xianrui, a member of the OUC Party Committee and vice president, and Long Wenbin, deputy curator of the China Printing Museum, attended the seminar. Relevant personnel from the Social Service Department of the China Printing Museum, as well as officials and teachers from the International Department and the International Chinese Education Centre of the OUC also participated in the meeting.

Fan Xianrui welcomed Long Wenbin and his team and expressed gratitude for the China Printing Museum's full support for the second OUC "UN Chinese Language Day" event. Fan Xianrui pointed out that Chinese culture is a valuable treasure for the Chinese people and also for people around the world. Chinese Language Day is an important commemorative day established by the United Nations to inherit and disseminate Chinese language and culture. Ancient Chinese printing is one of the four great inventions of the world and is also an important part of Chinese culture. The cooperation between the OUC and the China Printing Museum for the "UN Chinese Language Day" event will leverage their respective strengths to tell China's story and spread the voice of China together.

Long Wenbin briefly introduced the basic situation of the China Printing Museum, expressed the positive willingness to work with the OUC to jointly organise the "UN Chinese Language Day" event, and expressed a willingness to engage in more in-depth teaching and research cooperation with the OUC to explore new ideas for inheriting and innovating printing technology and disseminating Chinese culture.

Long Wenbin and his team also visited the "Internet Plus University" Exhibition Centre and the Exhibition Centre of the Seniors University of China at the Wukesong Campus, as well as conducted an on-site inspection of the venue for the second OUC "UN Chinese Language Day" event.

The 14th UN Chinese Language Day will fall on 20 April 2023, the start of Guyu, or "Grain Rain", the sixth solar term in the Chinese lunar calendar. The OUC will join hands with the China Printing Museum to hold the second OUC "UN Chinese Language Day" event.
