On February 13, 2023, Fan Xianrui, vice president of the Open University of China(OUC), led a team to conduct business research at the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press (FLTRP) Group.

 

Fan Xianrui pointed out that the OUC is deeply implementing the guiding principle of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, promoting digitalisation of education, serving lifelong learning for all, and accelerating the construction of a digital university that connects the world. Actively serving the country’s foreign strategy, the university is using digital technology to enable internationalisation and using internationalisation to promote digitalisation, and is accelerating the construction of overseas learning centres for the OUC. The FLTRP Group has rich achievements and distinctive advantages in internationalisation and digitalisation, and both sides can strengthen cooperation and coordinated development.

 

Wang Fang, the secretary of the Party Committee and chairperson of the FLTRP Group, as well as the president of the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, warmly welcomed the delegation. The deputy secretary of the Party Committee, vice Chairperson, and deputy editor-in-chief of the FLTRP Group, Chang Xiaoling, and her team introduced the business sectors and development advantages of the FLTRP Group, especially the phased achievements in international capacity building and overseas layout, as well as the recent efforts to increase the level of digital transformation.

 

Li Maolin, deputy director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office of Beijing Foreign Studies University, focused on introducing the international characteristics of the university. The university takes the initiative to serve national strategies, offering 101 foreign languages and cultivating a large number of high-quality professionals with international experience. It has made significant contributions to China’s international exchange and cooperation as well as the cultivation of international communication talents.

 

Both sides conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as promoting digital transformation, innovating educational forms, sharing educational resources, and promoting international exchanges. They expressed their intention to further strengthen communication, cooperation, and coordinated development, continuously promote digital transformation in education, achieve intelligent upgrading and integrated innovation, and actively promote digitalisation of education and educational openness to the outside world.
