In the 2022 autumn term, the Open University of China (OUC) improved the livestreaming teaching facilities for the teachers’ mobile terminals to enhance the effectiveness of live teaching.

The OUC delivers over 3,000 live streamed teaching sessions for students every year. In the past, livestreaming activities delivered through laptops or desktop computers did not create desirable learning effects or experiences due to unclear pictures or unstable sound. The OUC has taken measures to provide professional livestreaming facilities for teachers so that the effectiveness of their teaching could be improved without being affected by factors such as time, space or technology.

The teachers said that the livestreaming facilities meet their needs to carry out livestreaming teaching and research even at their own home during the pandemic period and ensure that they can fulfil their teaching and research work to a high standard. The effectiveness of the livestreaming teaching was recognised by both teachers and students after the application of the facilities during this term. New technologies and facilities have helped to enhance the teaching quality and provide better services for students and faculty members, as well as consolidate the foundation for the high-quality development of the OUC in the new era.
