On 20 January 2022, the Open University of China (OUC) held the sixth meeting of the third session of its Academic Degree Evaluation Committee via video conference. The meeting discussed issues related to degree granting for the 2021 autumn semester and decided to award 2006 graduates OUC bachelor’s degrees, including Qin Haitao.

The meeting was presided over by Li Song, member of the Academic Degree Evaluation Committee, and attended by Guo Liyun and other members of the committee. A total of 2188 undergraduate graduates applied for bachelor degrees in the 2021 autumn semester, including students from 42 branches at the provincial level, as well as the OUC Experimental School, the School for the Disabled, the Bayi School, the School for the Air Force, the Jundun School, the School of Social Work, and the Postal School. The meeting considered issues related to degree awarding, including non-awarding reports submitted by the sub-committees.

Li Song summarised the member’s speeches. He stated that members of sub-committees have found out some problems while reviewing the theses and put forward some constructive suggestions and advice. He added that relevant departments of the OUC headquarters should take serious action and take measures to further improve the quality of theses.
