Recently, Harbin Open University received a letter of thanks from the Open University of China (OUC) Learning Centre at the China-Zambia Vocational and Technical School (CZVTS) in Zambia, expressing gratitude for the university's donation of materials to help it fight Covid-19.

In the second half of 2020, Zambia experienced a rise in cases of Covid-19, while lacking materials to combat it. During its communications with the CZVTS, Harbin OU learned that the Learning Centre there was having difficulty preventing  faculty and students from contracting the disease, and to help it, collected more than 50,000 yuan worth of medical masks, protective clothing, disinfectant, and other materials, and promptly sent them to Zambia.

The thank-you note states, "Together we stand; my armour is yours! The assistance of Harbin OU from across the globe deeply moved us, and strengthened our faith and perseverance. We firmly believe that, with the strong support of the motherland and the joint efforts of all participants in the construction of CZVTS, as well as the friendship built fighting Covid-19, we will be able to do contain the epidemic and enhance the development of the school."
