From11th to 17th December, 2016, a delegation headed by OUC Vice President Li Linshu conducted a research tour on the progress of educational informatisation in the United States.

The delegation included heads from both the Information Technology and Learning Resources departments.

A tour of the world's best-known cloud computing service provider - Amazon Web Services (AWS)

A tour of Udacity, one of the three major MOOC operators

A tour of world-renowned research institution - MIT Media Lab

The delegation toured AWS, learning about AWS experiences and their advanced practices. They came to a deep understanding of how American universities adopted AWS for their campus informatisation systems, and queried how those universities improved their existing system’s service performance and strengthened information security. They toured Udacity, exploring its advanced experiences and practices in the development and operation of a MOOC. The OUC explored potential opportunities to cooperate with Udacity in developing course resources. During their visit to MIT Media Lab, they explored advanced practices and experiences in cross-discipline R&D and advanced learning technologies, discussing the mechanism and direction of future digital learning technology research and development at universities. The delegation also revealed the OUC's latest progress in educational informatisation, and its future vision.
