The final of the Sixth China (Qinghai) International Internet Plus College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held from 12-13 September 2020 at Qinghai Nationalities University. The outstanding performance of the Qinghai Branch of the Open University of China (OUC) stood out, winning one gold prize, three bronze prizes, and the prize for excellent organisation work.

The competition had the theme of “enterprising and innovative spirits” and received a total of 33 projects in the vocational education category. Fourteen projects submitted by the Qinghai Branch were shortlisted for the vocational education category. Following a fiercely contested competition, two gold prizes, three sliver prizes, and five bronze prizes were awarded, of which the Qinghai Branch won one gold prize, three bronze prizes, and the prize for excellent organisation work.

This was the first time that the Qinghai Branch had partaken in the China International Internet Plus College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. Both faculty and students demonstrated great enthusiasm for the event, and each project team took great efforts to prepare for the competition. The OUC paid a high degree of attention to the event from the very start and sent guidance to teachers for help and instruction. Thanks to the university leadership, everything needed to prepare for the competition such as human resources support, platforms, conditions, and materials were supplied to the participating teams. College entrepreneurship supervisors and experts from enterprises were also employed to offer one-on-one guidance to the teams entering the competition. They worked together to discuss and hammer out the content of the projects, including details such as the names, unique points, business models, PPT presentations, rehearsals,  and defence. Through these devoted efforts, the teams participating into the competition greatly improved their competitive strength.
