The Open University of China issued a notice (OUC [2015] No. 2) declaring the results of an essay activity with the themes of "My Teaching Story" and "My Learning Story." For the theme "My Learning Story," three essays were awarded first prize, five awarded second prize, ten awarded third prize, and ten awarded the prize of excellence.

For the essays with the theme "My Teaching Story," three essays were awarded first prize, five awarded second prize, ten awarded third prize, and five awarded prizes of excellence (See Appendix). In addition, seven RTVUs, including Beijing Open University, Inner Mongolia RTVU, Changchun RTVU, Hunan RTVU, Sichuan RTVU, Chongqing RTVU, and Guizhou RTVU, were awarded the organization prize.

In April 2015, to inspire enthusiasm among tutors, stimulate students' passion for learning, and strengthen cohesion of school operations, the OUC launched the "My Teaching Story" and "My Learning Story" campaign themes oriented to tutors and students. The campaign has aroused great interest from OUC branches nationwide. Tutors and students actively participated in the campaign and submitted their own essays. According to statistics, a total of 447 essays were received. Among them, 179 were contributed by tutors and 268 from students. These essays are full of passion, with vivid and touching stories. They were beautifully written, full of sincere emotion, and demonstrate the earnest work and study habits, as well as the inspiring outlook, of both open education tutors and students. The campaign invited scholars from the OUC headquarters and branches to serve on the review panel. After a rigorous review process (preliminary reviews, re-evaluations, and final evaluations), the results were announced.

According to the Notice, the campaign played an important role in promoting the OUC’s teaching reforms, stimulating students’ enthusiasm for study, and mobilizing tutors' initiative to work. To embody the spirit of the OUC, reveal the OUC’s ideology, set an exemplary model, and inspire the award-winning authors, the OUC will issue each one a certificate. All of the prize-winning works will be published at http://www.china.com.cn/, OUC News, China RTVU News, and will be compiled into a book.
