To facilitate the smooth progress of the ASEAN-China Digital Education Alliance's initiatives, the first online meeting of the Alliance Research Committee was organised by the Open University of China (OUC), the Alliance’s Secretariat, on 27 September 2024.
On 5 September 2024, a four-member delegation led by Marie-Thérèse Sombo Ayanne Safi Mukuna, Minister of Higher Education of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), visited the Open University of China (OUC).
On 4 September 2024, the Open University of China (OUC) welcomed a delegation led by Prof. Caroline Omulando, deputy vice chancellor of the Open University of Kenya (OUK).

Founded in 1987, the Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU) is a non-profit academic organization for open universities in Asia. As of October 2010, the AAOU has 48 official members, 22 associate members and 2 individual members.
To further consolidate consensus and deepen cooperation within the framework of the ASEAN-China Digital Education Alliance, Dr. Santhi Raghavan, vice president of Open University Malaysia (OUM), along with Ishar bin Ismail, manager of the Digital Services Department, recently visited the Open University of China (OUC) for an exchange visit.
On 27 August 2024, Fan Xianrui, a member of the Party Committee and vice president of the Open University of China (OUC), met with Dr. Guillaume Moumouni, president of the Beninese Students Association in China, and his delegation from the University of Abomey-Calavi, Benin.
To enhance faculty members’ academic English writing and presentation skills, improve communication capabilities, and support professional development, the Open University of China (OUC) launched the 2024 Academic English Skills Enhancement Programme for faculty.
On 9 July 2024, a delegation of 24 overseas postgraduates from the Institute of South-South Cooperation and Development (ISSCAD) at Peking University visited the Open University of China (OUC).
