Brief Introduction:

With headquarters located in Bucharest, Romania, the Romanian Wine Industry Alliance Group was founded with the support of the Romanian government in 2007 with the goal of uniting major wine producers in Romania and Europe and spreading wine culture.

The Group employs a professional marketing management team dedicated to exploring the Chinese wine market and promoting Romanian wine culture.

Domeniile Vinju Mare (Romania) is built in the prolific vine growing area known as “the heart of red wines in Romania”. The favorable geographical conditions make Domeniile Vinju Mare an ideal place for grape growing and wine making, and its long history, modern equipment, and streamlined production make Domeniile Vinju Mare a leader in the Romanian red wine industry. 

Cooperation with the OUC:

On November 25, 2011, the Open University of China (OUC)，Romanian Wine Industry Alliance Group, and Domeniile Vinju Mare (Romania), signed a letter of intent to establish a “Romanian Cultural Experience Centre” and work together to conduct the “Wine Taster Certification” programme.

With full support from both parties, the “Romanian Cultural Experience Centre” will highlight Romania's world-famous wine culture and develop wine tasting experts who are badly needed in the Chinese market. The Base will regularly host Sino-Romanian cultural exchange activities, including symposiums and exhibitions about Romania. Furthermore, it will become a window through which Romanians can experience Chinese culture, understand Chinese society, and learn the Chinese language.

Invited by the Commercial Division of the Romanian Embassy in China, the OUC sent a six-member delegation led by Ruan Zhiyong, former party secretary and vice president of the OUC, to Romania in June, 2012. The delegation’s objective was to propel the development of the “Romanian Cultural Experience Center” and Sino-Romanian “Wine Taster Certification” programme, and to introduce high-quality Romanian course resources to China. The delegates also conducted in-depth discussions with the Romanian Wine Society and directors of related agricultural departments regarding details of their collaborative efforts to promote joint projects.

On November 6, 2012, an economic and trade delegation led by Radu Zaharia, general director of Trade and International Relations, Romanian Ministry of Economy, Trade and Business Environment, visited the OUC conference center. The delegation was accompanied by Augustin Iosifescu, economic ministry advisor to the Romanian Embassy in China. Liu Chen, assistant president of the OUC, received the delegates. The delegates also visited the “Romania Cultural Experience Centre”. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions about future cooperation on vocational training and other areas.
