On 28 September 2021, the Open University of China (OUC) and the University of London (UoL) connected via video transmission for the opening ceremony of an 12-week online tutor-training programme aiming to help OUC teachers with distance teaching, design of online classes, evaluation, and other areas, and provide a platform for their collaboration. Over 250 teachers from the OUC headquarters and more than 40 branches are participating.

On 25 March 2021, the Open University of China (OUC) cooperated with Beijing Yuying School to hold training for Mongolian teachers at the invitation of the UNESCO Beijing Office and the Institute of Teachers’ Professional Development of Mongolia (ITPD). The goal of the training was to share experiences and practices of epidemic prevention and control, as well as “undisrupted learning during school closures” in primary and middle schools in the context of COVID-19 in China.

The Open University of China (OUC) held its second online workshop for teachers from the Institute of Teachers’ Professional Development of Mongolia (ITPD) on 16 March 2021, at the invitation of the UNESCO Beijing Office and ITPD. The workshop was themed around online course design with the aim of helping Mongolian teachers master the basic skills of online instruction and improve their online teaching abilities.

The Open University of China (OUC) held a training workshop for the Institute of Teachers’ Professional Development of Mongolia (ITPD) from 17-18 November 2020, in an attempt to implement a cooperation agreement with UNESCO.

A ceremony to sign a cooperation agreement between the Open University of China (OUC) and Universal College, Malaysia was held on 17 December 2018. Yang Xiaotang, vice president of the OUC, and Gan Tian Loo, director of Universal College, signed the cooperation framework agreement.

On the afternoon of 19 May 2020, the Open University of China (OUC) and UNESCO signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU). Jing Degang, OUC president and secretary of its Party Committee, and Marielza Oliveira, director and representative of the UNESCO Beijing Cluster Office, signed on behalf of the respective parties at a signing ceremony. The ceremony was also attended by deputy secretary general Mr Zhou Jiagui and director of the Department of Education Ms Jia Nan from the Secretariat of Chinese National Commission for UNESCO.
