To effectively implement the guidelines set forth by the 20th CPC National Congress, and to uphold the achievements from the thematic education campaign on studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, Li Song, a member of OUC's Party Committee and vice president of OUC, embarked on a field trip to Gansu.

This visit was in alignment with directives from the Ministry of Education and aimed at evaluating the progress of the targeted aid programme designed for rural revitalisation. During his visit, Li Song assessed the utilization and efficacy of education and teaching equipment donated by OUC, including the "smart-blackboard" and "cloud classroom". The objective was to collaboratively work with local authorities to optimise the quality and efficiency of educational support.

In Li County, Longnan, Gansu, the investigative team convened a symposium with Ma Chi, secretary of the Leading Party Group of the Education Bureau in Li County and also the bureau chief. Also in attendance were Yan Hong, deputy bureau chief, and representatives from relevant divisions and organisations. The aim was to gain a comprehensive understanding of the educational development in Li County, the challenges faced, and the areas where support is most needed, particularly in the domains of educational informatisation and faculty development.

In their visit to the Li County School of Longnan Open University, the investigation team engaged in comprehensive discussions with local personnel regarding the implementation of the education assistance programme sponsored by OUC. They further explored the utilization of donated teaching equipment, such as smart blackboards and cloud classrooms, the advancement of open education, and the educational and teaching implementations. Additionally, topics of community education and senior education were also addressed.

Li Song and the team conducted a visit to the Second Vocational School of Xihe County (also known as Xihe School, Longnan Open University) to investigate the development of vocational and open education in Xihe County and its contribution to local economic and social growth.

Li Song emphasised the need to elevate awareness from the standpoint of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. It is imperative to build consensus and execute the tasks with precision and effectiveness. We must delineate the challenges clearly, address the most acute issues that concern the broader teaching and student community, and enhance the implementation of educational support measures. This will harness the transformative power of education to bolster rural revitalisation and pave the Chinese pathway to modernisation.

Wang Hongning, deputy secretary of the Gansu Open University Party’s Committee and its President, was accompanied by Cao Xiangdong, chief of the Career Development Division, and Li Guangde, dean of the Faculty of Agroforestry and Medicine (Rural Revitalisation College), in the investigation.
