The Internet Education Centre

The Internet Education Centre is a core business department for the research and development of Internet-based education products and learning services. Its main responsibilities include carrying out Internet-based education products and learning services related work, including project planning, product research and development, service design, content integration, pilot operation, and coordination with the Credit Bank, based on the credit bank system, and make explorations in the Internet Plus education training mode and operation mechanism.

It also functions as the project office for the OUC’s Research Centre of Industry and Education Integration and is responsible for the operation of the “Wonderful Life and Lifelong Learning Plan for Women (in cooperation with the Publicity Department of All-China Women’s Federation)” and “Haizhu Workers College” (entrusted by Haizhu District Federation of Trade Unions of Guangzhou City).

 

Teacher Training and Development Centre

The Teacher Training and Development Centre is the business operation department of the OUC teachers’ training network. Its main responsibilities including offering continuing education and specialised training for teachers in kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, and secondary and higher vocational colleges to promote their professional development, as well as the “double improvements of educational and teaching abilities and the educational qualifications.” Based on the fundamental task of implementing projects of the “National Training Programme for Primary and Secondary School Teachers” of the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Ministry of Finance (hereinafter referred to as “the National Training Programme”), the centre focuses on two core businesses: kindergarten teacher training and training targeting at the Project for Improving the Information Technology Application Abilities of Primary and Secondary School Teachers, which focuses on training system design, training model innovation, curriculum resource optimisation, and training quality improvement. A number of branded projects have been developed, including health care training, the nurturing and educational abilities of kindergarten teachers, and the information-based teaching abilities of teachers and of information-based leadership for principals. In 2018, the OUC’s teachers’ training network was recognised by the MOE as one of the seven “Innovation Training Platforms (V2) for the Project for Improving the Information Technology Application Abilities of Primary and Secondary School Teachers.”

 

Certificate Education Promotion Centre

The Certificate Education Promotion Centre is the core business department for implementing the “double improvements of professional abilities and education qualifications” training project. Its main responsibilities include: basing its work on the Credit Bank and following the classic development model of “double improvements of professional abilities and education qualifications” in non-degree education, while focusing its work on industry development and social livelihood; deepening the integration of industry and education and cooperation between colleges and enterprises; and collaborating with ecosystem partners and cultivating high-quality, highly skilled, and professionals required by industries through studying and developing job standards, opening job related courses, implementing in-service training, and initiating job skills assessment. At present, the centre, together with its ecological partners, has launched a certificate education and training programme in the fields of home economics, elderly care, and health management.

 

Department for Industry and Enterprise Cooperation

The Department for Industry and Enterprise Cooperation is a core business department engaged in training talents that are in short supply in emerging industries. Its main functions include: uniting industry organisations, leading enterprises, and vocational colleges and closely follow the development trend of the industry; promoting the integration of industry and education and the dual operation of education by universities and enterprises; developing contracted training programmes targeted at the employment and job needs of industrial enterprises and based on the Credit Bank system, and to match professional talent supply with demand and accurately satisfy the need for professional talents. At present, it focuses on the field of industrial digital transformation, training talents in short supply for new posts, and bringing together the talents needed by industries and enterprises. At the same time, it cooperates with Alibaba and other leading enterprises, as well as vocational education training evaluation organisations recognised by the pilot programme of the national vocational education reform “1+X” certificate system to develop original factory certificate certification training and 1+X certificate training. It is also in charge of the projects of "Training Upgrading Precision and Advanced Industrial Skills in Beijing” and “Education and Training of Capital Workers of the Beijing Municipal Federation of Trade Unions.”

 

Department of Teaching Operations and Quality Assurance

The Department of Teaching Operations and Quality Assurance is a comprehensive functional department responsible for the operation of converged media learning platforms (web, apps, official accounts, knowledge store, communities, etc.), teaching operation and management, online learning support services, and quality assurance. Its main functions include: being responsible for the operation and management of the platform of xiangxue8.com, the official website and subscription account of the OUC Education and Training Centre, and the WeChat service account of xiangxue8.com; managing the network information security of relevant websites of the OUC Education and Training Centre; studying, formulating, organising, implementing, supervising, and evaluating the teaching operation, management system, quality standards, and quality assurance system of the OUC Education  and Training Centre; providing online teaching and learning support services; and being responsible for certificate management and inquiry, and the recording and storage of students’ learning achievements in the Credit Bank.

 

Branch School of Industry and Education Integration under the OUC Secondary Technical School

A branch school with the features of industry and education integration established on the basis of the OUC Education and Training Centre by the OUC Secondary Technical School. Its main responsibilities include: developing educational projects to improve secondary vocational abilities and educational qualifications targeted at trainees in secondary vocational education and training programmes under the guidance and management of the OUC Secondary Technical School.

 

Demonstration Base for Public Examinations

Authorised and entrusted by the OUC Examination Services Centre for the Public, the Demonstration Base for Public Examinations is a standard test demonstration site of the OUC social test public service system, jointly constructed and operated with the joint efforts of the OUC Education and Training Centre, and a number of OUC branches and local schools, together with relevant social forces.

 

Business Support Centre

The Business Support Centre is a backstage support department of the OUC Education and Training Centre. Its main responsibilities include human resources, finance, administration, and services and support for business departments.
