On March 20 2016, a five-person delegation headed by Chen Songbai, President of Taiwan Open University, paid a visit to Fujian RTVU. Ma Guofang and Xia Liangyu, Vice Presidents of Fujian RTVU, met the delegation and signed a Letter of Intent on Cooperation and an Agreement of Cooperation to nail down details of their cooperation in the aspects of school running and development, academic exchange and research, personnel training etc., whilst inaugurating the “Cross-Strait Economy and Culture Research Centre”.

Ma Guofang stated that the two universities have a sound foundation of cooperation and hoped that the visit of President Chen Songbai and the delegation would further promote deepening of interscholastic collaborations and implementation of specific cooperative projects, thus benefiting all parties.

Chen Xingyan, President of Fujian RTVU, hosted a symposium on the cooperation between the two universities in the areas of personnel exchange, scientific research, curriculum and resource construction and exchange, learner development cooperation, student enrollment and school running, teaching and research, school management etc., in which great strides in cooperation have been made. A consensus has been reached on in-depth cooperation regarding transfer of credits, mobile learning, learner support services, etc. In addition, discussions have also been conducted on joint cooperation in school running and construction between the two parties.

After the meeting, the two parties signed a Letter of Intent and an Agreement on Exchange and Cooperation to solidify their collaborative relationship in the aspects of school running, academic exchange and research, personnel training and exchange, learner development exchange, course transfer, communication in lifelong learning and community education, etc. Meanwhile, the “Cross-Strait Economy and Culture Research Centre” was inaugurated and unveiled by the presidents of both universities.

Attendees also included Chen Zhanhong, Vice President of Fujian RTVU and personnel from related departments.
