On December 1, 2015, the opening ceremony for the Inner Mongolia Urban and Rural Community College was held at Inner Mongolia Radio and Television University(Inner Mongolia RTVU).

Numerous officials attended, including the autonomous region’s Vice Chairman, Bai Xiangqun, Vice President of the Open University of China(OUC), Liu Chen, the Party Secretary of the Working Committee for Colleges and Universities under the Party Committee of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the Director of the region’s Education Department,Hou Yuan, Civil Affairs Director of the Autonomous Region, Lan Enhua, Deputy Director of the General Office of the Government of the Autonomous Region, Sun Lijian, and related personnel from the Department of Finance of the Autonomous Region. Inner Mongolia RTVU’s Party Secretary, Zhao Dong, presided over the meeting.

Bai Xiangqun and Liu Chen unveiled the nameplate for the new college. Hou Yuan, Lan Enhua, and Liu Chen each addressed the opening ceremony.

After the Inner Mongolia Urban and Rural Community College’s establishment, it will follow current development trends and undertake theoretical community education research, community work and policy consultation, develop learning resources for community education, realize information services and personnel training for the entire region, actively explore institutional mechanisms for the development of community education, carry out various activities for community education, increase the breadth and depth of social participation, actively participate in executing Inner Mongola’s Belt and Road Initiative and the Prairie Silk Road project, perform Mongolian and Chinese bilingual international education, and make full use of cultural and educational facilities formed under the “ten full coverage”to carry out rural community education. This will all contribute to a more extensive social influence, promote the construction of a lifelong educational system for all urban and rural residents in the autonomous region, and facilitate the formation of an Inner Mongolian community education model with its own characteristics and assets, establishing it as a benchmark for the entire autonomous region and even the country.

After the opening ceremony, leaders at the meeting visited the college’s information education facilities,including its cloud classroom, two-way video conferencing room, and digital library.

Leaders,the president’s assistant, principals responsible for various departments, and related personnel from Inner Mongolia RTVU all attended the opening ceremony.
