On November 13, 2015, Fujian Province’s first session of its “Modern Young Farmer” training class undertaken by Fujian RTVU kicked off. 

Fujian Province’s “Modern Young Farmer Programme” aims to build a cadre of farmers with high skills, strong entrepreneurial abilities and great leadership skills through training and guidance, start-up incubation, certification management, policy support and tracking services, adopting the methods of group education, group enrollments.  

The training is going to last for two years, in which ten days are arranged for group intensive study for the first round of the training, including face-to-face theoretical instruction, case discussions and outward training etc. In the future, ongoing work will be made on cultivation, experience exchanges, sum-up and publicity, tracking service and effect analysis etc. Thirty-two field training bases in the city are available for the young farmer’s practice activities.

The opening ceremony was attended by Chen Zhanhong, Vice President of Fujian RTVU, relevant sectors from Science and Education Division of the Fujian Agriculture Department, Longyan Agriculture Bureau, Fujian RTVU and responsible personnel from Longyan RTVU, relevant personnel of the training class appointed by Agriculture Bureaus of the counties (municipalities) in Longyan city and Regional RTVU work sites of the counties (municipalities) , teachers in the agriculture specialism from teaching departments of the provincial school, and 238 modern youth farmers from counties (municipalities) in Longyan city.
