Gansu Cadre Online School was inaugurated at Gansu Radio and TV University (RTVU) on June 10, 2015, which indicating that new progress has been achieved in the reform of cadre education and training in Gansu province. Hao Yuan, Vice Governor of Gansu province, Chen Weizhong, Vice Minister of the Organization Department of Gansu Provincial Party Committee, attended the opening ceremony, in which Mr. Chen also announced the Announcement of the Foundation of Gansu Cadre Online School and when Zhu Weiguo, Secretary of the Party Committee from Gansu RTVU hosted the ceremony and gave a speech.
Six years preparation work for the construction of Gansu Cadre Online School developed it into such a platform that integrates online learning, teaching management, examination and assessment; gathers together 1000 high profile quality courses from both home and abroad; it covers the aspects from political theories, provincial and national conditions etc., which meets to the maximum degree the job requirements as well as the diversified and personalized needs of the cadres. During the preparation period, about 100,000 person-units training had been offered to cadres with the completion rate reaching above 98%, which has been fully recognized by the Cadre Education Bureau of the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC and leaders from the provincial Party Committee.
Zhu Weiguo noted that as the construction unit of Gansu Cadre Online School, has been guided by the principles of serving economic development, the development of cadres and accurate positioning, Gansu RTVU is dedicated to building, utilizing and managing the cadre online school to its utmost ability, developing it into a “new front” for provincial cadre education and training, a “new platform” for lifelong learning, a “new carrier” for work exchanges, a “new base” for the improvement of ability , a “new model” for the digitization development of Party construction in order to contribute to the improvement of a learning government and learning society in Gansu province.
At the end of the inauguration ceremony, Hao Yuan and Chen Weizhong made a visit to review the teaching facilities and equipment built by Gansu RTVU, such as the cloud classroom control centre, cloud classroom, television studio etc. They also had an onsite distance video interaction with other municipalities and prefectures in Gansu province via the “cloud classroom”. During the interaction, Hao Yuan pointed out that the establishment of Gansu Cadre Online School effectively integrates quality education resources from fourteen municipalities and prefectures of Gansu province to realize resource sharing and also that the “cloud classroom” makes it possible for the learners from RTVUs in different municipalities and prefectures across the province to realize instant communication anywhere and anytime and share what they have learned with each other. During the video interaction with leaders from Jiayuguan and Baiyin Organization Departments, Chen Weizong added that the online training for cadres should be done well and efficiently. By online learning, poverty alleviation should be realized for the cadres in poorer areas to genuinely achieve the poor being helped by those who are already prosperous.
Altogether 60 people, including leaders from Cadre Education Division of the Provincial Organization Department, all members of Gansu RTVU leadership and its middle-level cadres attended the opening ceremony.
