From October 17-21, 2014, “The Second National Harmony Community Calligraphy and Seal Cutting Exhibition”, jointly organized by the MOE Research and Training Centre for Community Education, the Calligraphy Education Committee of the Chinese Society of Education, Tianjin Calligrapher’s Association, Tianjin Lifelong Education Society and Tianjin Radio and TV University (Tianjin RTVU), was held at the Youth Palace of Tianjin’s Hexi District.

The exhibition was permanently established in Tianjin last year and has since achieved widespread acknowledgement and participation. For this session, 1,424 works were collected. The participants come from more than 20 provinces and cities around the country, starting as young as nine years old. The group of leading scholars picked 223 works from all the pieces submitted. The exhibited works will tour the country after the exhibition at Tianjin.

This exhibition was undertaken by the Calligraphy School of Tianjin RTVU and the i-Calligraphy Lab subordinate to the MOE Research and Training Centre for Community Education, and aims to build a platform for calligraphy study and exchange with the theme of “anyone can learn anytime, anywhere”.
