On 9 September 2014, Fujian Radio and TV University (Fujian RTVU) launched the “Micro RTVU” WeChat public service platform. In the future, students will only need to scan the “Micro RTVU” QR code to access the platform, allowing them to access Fujian RTVU’s learning resources and learning support services anytime, anywhere.

The “Micro RTVU” WeChat public service platform is a mobile distance education application platform constructed on the basis of the mobile Internet and new media technologies by Fujian RTVU. Through the interconnection of data from provincial, municipal and county-level RTVUs, the integration of excellent resources and the sharing of educational and teaching information, “Micro RTVU” ensures that teachers and students at RTVUs in the province can obtain news and information, teaching information and support services whenever necessary, reflecting Fujian RTVU’s commitment to social information services.

Oriented towards teachers and students at RTVUs across the province, “Micro RTVU” provides functions including news dissemination, information searching and distance reception. Through the platform, students can check teaching, educational and exam information including credits, academic records, courses, exams, and tutoring arrangements, and carry out interactive tasks including online registration, student circles, teaching circles, questionnaires, and online consultations. Furthermore, the platform will provide a range of learning resources for free for all members of society.

The platform will centre on the strategic vision of “Mobile Changes Study” and take the construction of “RTVU at your fingertips” as an opportunity, make full use of its systematic, resource and brand advantages, and its skills in popularization and applications of education digitization to integrate mobile and new media technologies to build and perfect the platform, and provide a convenient channel for teachers and students to obtain information resources.
