The computer training class for the elderly, organized by the Experimental School of  Zhejiang RTVU for the Elderly and the Training School (Zhejiang Instruction Centre for Community Education), reopened again recently. This training class is adopting a small-class format, introducing courses at the “RTVU’s Tea Centre,” which were developed independently by the Zhejiang RTVU Training School. The class has already had five sessions.

More than 30 senior students from different communities participated in the opening ceremony. Throughout the “RTVU’s Tea Centre” course, the senior citizen students elaborated upon tea culture and established study groups in the “peaceful, silent, cheerful and real” atmosphere and formed interesting and instructive interactions. The students seemed to return to the innocence of their childhoods, opening their hearts to the dreams they had for their lives.

The students set up three study groups and fully devoted themselves to the learning and working within them. They actively participated in every task, including tea people, tea words and tea flags, naming their teams, writing team mottos, singing team theme songs, deploying formations, collective dialogues and collective sketches. Each of them glowed with vigor, displaying an appearance of youthful immortality and enjoyment of life. This fully reflected the culture of the RTVU’s School for the Elderly: The old have something to learn; they are never too old to learn and learning is endless enjoyment.

The students expressed that through the teachings of the “RTVU’s Tea Centre” course, they increased their confidence in learning computer science. Meanwhile they grasped more studying skills and methods.
