The “Happy Community” photo contest, which is hosted by Sichuan Radio and TV University (RTVU), is now entering the stage of online voting. 93 finalists have already been posted on the “Happy Community” photo contest special column, located on the Sichuan community education website (http://xfsq.scrtvu.net/). Online voting will be open from March 1 to March 31.

In order to implement the spirit of the 18th CPC National Congress, exhibit the happy harmonious community life, and creatively develop community education, Sichuan RTVU started the “Happy Community” photo contest in July, 2013. To ensure the success of this event, Sichuan RTVU established the Community Photo Contest Committee, which consists of assessment and administrative panels in charge of reviewing and promoting evaluation opinions.

Three expert judges were invited to oversee the contest. Jiang Xi, a freelance cameraman, is a member of Association of Sichuan Photographers and Photographic Society of America and is also a special photographer for the magazine Chinese Historic Geography. He has worked as a professional photographer for ten years and has traveled widely, including to Chuanxibei Plateau, Tibet, Qinghai, Gansu, and Xinjiang. He has taken more than one hundred thousand pictures and published nearly one thousand of them, as well as more than one hundred thousand words in various media. Zheng Shengzhi is a member of the China Folklore Photographic Association and Association of Sichuan Photographers who has been engaged in photography for nearly 30 years. He previously taught photography courses for fine arts majors in a five-year advanced vocational technical college, an adult college and secondary vocational school at the Sichuan RTVU Vocational and Technical School. Chen Xuanwen, who managed the official photography for Sichuan RTVU and its periodical office from 1984 to 2004, is now a member of the National Association of College and University Photography and its academic board, an executive director and deputy secretary-general of the Sichuan University Photography Association, and director of the College Students Branch of the Sichuan University Photography Association.

This event has received 190 works in total from various cities, autonomous prefectures, and branch campuses of the RTVU and their surrounding communities. After the experts’ review, 93 finalists were selected during the primary election and posted online for voting. After making their final selections, the committee will select three first prizes, 6 second prizes and 15 third prizes according to the result of the experts’ review and online voting. At that point, the award-winning works will then be exhibited on the Sichuan community education website.
