On November 19, 2013, the final competition of the “Postal Savings Bank Cup-Sixth National College Network Business Innovation Application Contest” concluded successfully in Beijing. Under the guidance of Teacher Peng Chunjun,

 

 

 

who specializes in e-business, the team dubbed “Young and Intelligent Talents” from the Trade & Travel Department of Hunan RTVU stood out from the other 260 teams in the finals, and won the junior college group championship.

Guided by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), supported by the Ministry of Education, hosted by the Internet Society of China, and co-organized by the Postal Savings Bank of China, the competition has seen more than 160 thousand college students from more than 2,200 colleges and universities nationwide and 4,404 teams from national colleges and universities, including leading universities of the “211 Project” and the “985 Project”, the national demonstration universities, the national backbone universities, and the provincial demonstration universities. After a review of the preliminary contest, 2,554 teams made it into the quarter-finals, and over 800 teams from more than 200 colleges and universities went on to compete in division finals, winning further awards. After review from the judges in each division, 260 teams from more than 200 colleges and universities were selected to compete in the national final competition. 

Designed to use real-world business projects as the subject, the competition aims to encourage college students to creatively use network platforms as tools to find solutions for the projects in the contest. The reviewers, composed of experts from the MIIT, colleges and universities, as well as business experts, selected the winners based on each team's creativity and results. This contest inspired the college students’ cognition and understanding of both business and the market, enhanced their ability to find creative solutions using network platform tools and business practices, and also improved the employability of college students and the teaching of creative problem solving both in school and in real world applications. Those teams who got through to the finals not only showed their superb ability in planning, but also gained outstanding experience. They won the commendation of both their educational and business reviewers.

Hunan RTVU’s high level of expertise in e-business specialism was undeniably established, standing out from the other national colleges and universities in this contest. Advanced teaching notions, mature teaching methods, strong teaching management, and an excellent e-business teaching staff guaranteed that the university would bring home the contest's top prize.
