The 2013 Exhibition on Calligraphy and Photography held by the Zhejiang Radio and TV University (RTVU) System was themed “Flying the Dream: Building our Common Spiritual Home”, and was unveiled in Hangzhou's West Lake Museum on October 12. President Fang Zhigang, Vice President Hou Yu, and Vice President Gong Xiangguo of Zhejiang RTVU, together with Curator Zheng Liqun and Vice Curator Liu Chunhui of the West Lake Museum, attended the exhibition's launch ceremony, which was chaired by Secretary Fang Dawei of the Discipline Inspection Commission.

 
Vice President Hou Yu gave a speech at the ceremony. He explained that the 2013 Exhibition on Calligraphy and Photography by the Zhejiang RTVU System is a grand occasion to fully demonstrate the fine mental outlook of the teachers and students in the provincial RTVU system and to make solid progress in promoting a healthy campus culture with RTVU characteristics. He hopes that all the teachers and students in the provincial RTVUs will work hard with practicality and innovation to build a learning society for all and an education system to support lifelong learning and to make humble contributions to the construction of a modern Zhejiang with material wealth and spiritual content sharing equal importance in their common educational dream.

It is known that the 2013 Exhibition on Calligraphy and Photography by the Zhejiang RTVU System received a positive response marked by the active participation of the provincial RTVU faculty members and students. A total of 195 calligraphic works and 615 photos are among the 830 pieces that are on display. The first, second, and final rounds of selection have led to the following results: For brush calligraphy, there are 3 first prize works, 8 second prize works, and 14 third prize works; for pen calligraphy, there are 3 first prize works, 6 second prize works, and 7 third prize works; for photography, there are 6 first prize works, 15 second prize works, and 21 third prize works.

This Exhibition on Calligraphy and Photography by the Zhejiang RTVU System lasts one week. The exhibition of the 122 pieces of calligraphy, 135 photographs, and 25 examples of seal-cutting works exemplify progress, a rich campus culture, a positive mental outlook, and serve to well model the characteristics of an education dream, adding a significant stroke to the construction of Zhejiang Open University.
