“Hebei Lifelong Learning Online” is understood to be a three-tier interactive public service platform for the province, city and county. It is also a non-profit public service website devised by  Hebei RTVU. It is a resource “supermarket” to facilitate lifelong learning for all urban and rural residents in Hebei Province, and a hub for learners’ individualized learning. The website is mainly made up of the three major plates, namely “community home”, “channel for agriculture, rural areas and farmers”, and “cadre online”. It includes about 20 columns, such as “ancient states of Yan and Zhao in retrospect” and “follow me”, simultaneously launching both the cell phone and pad versions at the website.

“By now, nearly 5,000 courses with learning resources dominated by videos, animation and three-tier screen courseware have been made and uploaded on the online platform. These cover 27 categories including vocational planning, skills training, family healthcare, agriculture and forestry horticulture, leisure culture and Party spirit education. Once residents open the webpage, they can access 24-hour learning according to their own needs and interests. To encourage the students, Hebei RTVU has also introduced online grade certificates. A certain grade of online learning will be of help to future employment applications as well,” said Liu Xiaoping, secretary of the Hebei RTVU CPC Committee.

“Just now, I logged on to the platform. The operation system is simple and easy to learn, and the courses are rich in content. They cover calligraphy, drawing, photography, employment instruction and the like. Each class lasts 15-20 minutes, which is reasonable. There are also student learning records to help them follow their own progress of learning. ‘Hebei Lifelong Learning Online’ is an online open class that services the public. It is beneficial to our future knowledge preparation and skills upgrade. I like the platform very much,” a resident for operation experience onsite told a reporter.
