Beijing, 9 April 2026 – Mr. Jan Heinze, Owner and Accountable Manager of Heinze Academy (Heinze Akademie) in Germany, visited the Open University of China (OUC). OUC Vice President Prof. LI Song met with him.

Prof. LI extended a warm welcome to Mr. Heinze. He noted that China and Germany are comprehensive strategic partners. Educational cooperation has always been an important component of bilateral relations. Germany boasts a long tradition and world-renowned expertise in vocational education and applied talent cultivation, with many models worth studying and learning from. He expressed the hope that this exchange would serve as a starting point to enhance mutual understanding, jointly explore feasible pathways for cooperation, and elevate China-Germany educational cooperation to new heights.

Mr. Heinze spoke highly of OUC's achievements in educational operation. He provided a detailed introduction to the Heinze Academy's history and its vocational and technical education programmes, expressing hope for in-depth cooperation with OUC in teacher training, curriculum development, and faculty or student exchanges. He also welcomed the OUC delegation to visit the Heinze Academy.

The two sides exchanged views on relevant cooperation topics. Representatives from OUC's College of International Education, Lifelong Education Research Institute, Learning Resources Department, and other relevant departments participated in the activities.
