Beijing, 5 January 2026 – Dr. Janet Anne Rose, the Principal of Norland College, UK together with LIN Kun from the International Cooperation Centre of the National Development and Reform Commission, visited the Open University of China (OUC). OUC President WANG Qiming and Vice President FAN Xianrui welcomed the delegation.

President WANG Qiming extended a warm welcome to the visitors and briefed them on OUC's distinctive features and recent achievements. He noted that educational cooperation between China and the UK has a long and fruitful history, and this visit presents a vital opportunity for deepening collaboration and mutual learning between the two institutions. He expressed hope for enhanced cooperation in professional training of domestic service talent, joint development and sharing of curriculum resources, and collaborative research initiatives.
During the meeting, Vice President FAN Xianrui said that the visit would serve as a starting point for substantive collaboration in early childhood education and domestic service talent cultivation, with a focus on non-degree training programmes and international research cooperation.

Representatives from OUC's Education and Training Centre, College of International Education, Lifelong Education Research Institute, School of Economics and Management, and School of Foreign Languages attended the meeting.
In March 2025, Vice President FAN Xianrui led a delegation to the UK to attend the China-UK Roundtable Conference on Talent Cultivation and Exchange Cooperation in Domestic Services and visited Norland College. This return visit by Norland College not only demonstrates a positive response to the issues discussed at the roundtable but also represents a constructive step toward exploring practical cooperation under the China-UK framework for domestic service talent development.
