To further consolidate consensus and deepen cooperation within the framework of the ASEAN-China Digital Education Alliance, Dr. Santhi Raghavan, vice president of Open University Malaysia (OUM), along with Ishar bin Ismail, manager of the Digital Services Department, recently visited the Open University of China (OUC) for an exchange visit.

Fan Xianrui, a member of the Party Committee and vice president of the OUC, warmly welcomed the OUM delegation. She reflected on the history of exchanges and cooperation between the OUC and OUM, expressing hope that the OUM would continue to contribute valuable insights to the development of the ASEAN-China Digital Education Alliance, thereby creating a new paradigm for educational cooperation and exchange.

Dr. Santhi Raghavan affirmed her commitment to actively participating in the Alliance’s initiatives. She hoped that in the future both sides would enhance policy dialogue and coordination, promote the mutual development and sharing of high-quality educational resources, and deepen cultural exchanges and cooperation.

During the meeting, both parties engaged in in-depth and pragmatic discussions on issues such as curriculum resource development and scientific research cooperation. They committed to continuously strengthening dialogue within the Alliance’s framework and exploring innovative cooperation models based on their signed Memorandum of Understanding. This approach aims to embrace the digital transformation of education with an open and inclusive mindset, fostering mutual benefits.

Following the 2024 annual conference of the ASEAN-China Digital Education Alliance held in Guizhou on 21 August, the OUM delegation visited Guangzhou Open University and the Weigongcun campus of the OUC. These visits further solidified the groundwork for enhancing international educational exchanges and cooperation.
