On May 24, 2013, a launch ceremony for Beihai City’s community education practitioner training programme was held using the OUC’s “cloud classroom”, the first major use since its completion.
The training was organized by the OUC Training Center and Beihai RTVU. It combined online learning, expert lectures and on-the-ground visits. Four training sessions are planned this year, with the aim of improving the professional level of community education practitioners in Beihai City, and exploring a development path based on their specific needs. Online learning will be based entirely on the “cloud classroom”.
Liu Chen, OUC assistant president and director of the OUC Press; Wang Qifu, dean of the School of Continuing Education; Liu Yuxin, vice dean of the School of Continuing Education; and Lu Dawu, president of Beihai RTVU, attended the ceremony through the “cloud classroom”.
The first OUC “cloud classroom” was formally established in Beihai RTVU on May 21, 2012. The “cloud classroom” incorporates the three functions of distance teaching, video conferencing, and examination monitoring. According to the OUC’s plan, 2013 will see the completion of the first 63 OUC “cloud classrooms” and the construction of another 100 or so “cloud classrooms”.
