Under the guidance of the National Higher Distance Education Cooperative Group and the OUC, Distance Education in China will host the China International Distance Education Conference 2012 in Beijing on November 22-23, 2012. This year's conference theme is “Technology Development and Education Innovation for the Changing Times”. The conference will focus on the latest changes,
problems, challenges, and opportunities facing industries in today's changing times, and discuss new methods and pathways for industry innovation, providing new energy and motivation for industry development.
The conference will comprise an opening ceremony, keynote speeches, more than ten field-oriented summit forums, and an exhibition of achievements in the innovation and development of distance education and enterprise learning in China. The conference aims to construct a key platform for communication and cooperation between the distance education and enterprise learning fields, and provide an opportunity for existing distance learning and enterprise learning organizations as well as those planning to get involved in distance education, enterprise university programmes, or e-learning to communicate, collaborate and learn from each other.
From 2002 to 2011, Distance Education in China successfully hosted 10 annual conferences. Over the past 10 years, more than 20,000 representatives and thousands of institutions have attended the conference, which has greatly helped to promote the development of modern distance education in China.
