Moving forward, it will align closely with China’s strategy of building a leading country in education and advance the establishment of a ubiquitous and accessible lifelong education system.

FAN praised the Qingdao Branch - one of the first local branches approved by SUC - for its active participation in headquarters initiatives. She noted that the branch showcases the vitality of older learners in the new era and fosters an environment where study and ageing are sources of shared enjoyment. FAN also encouraged the branch to continue forging ahead and to craft a high-quality “Qingdao model” for senior education.

The event was organised by SUC and hosted by its Qingdao Branch. More than 120 participants attended in person, including senior officials from OUC and SUC, the Qingdao Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the Municipal Education Bureau, the Municipal Health Commission, the Qingdao University for the Aged, municipal colleges, district education bureaus, vocational-and-continuing-education partners, and representatives of faculty, volunteers and students from the Qingdao Branch.
