Shenzhen, 28 September 2025 - The finals and Award Ceremony of the 4th Shenzhen Entrepreneurship and Innovation Contest for Persons with Disabilities concluded at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Talent Innovation Park.

Jointly organised by the Shenzhen Disabled Persons’ Federation, the Shenzhen Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and the Shenzhen Federation of Trade Unions, and hosted by the Shenzhen Comprehensive Service Centre for Persons with Disabilities, the competition awarded the silver prize to a team led by WU Yiming —an undergraduate in the autumn-2023 Social Work programme of School for the Disabled of the Open University of China (OUC) for their smart navigation system designed for people with visual impairment.

According to the organisers, this year’s contest was themed “Entrepreneurship Without Barriers, Innovation for a Shared Future.” Four tracks were set up: Enterprise Self-Reliance, Enterprise Disability Support, Team Self-Reliance and Team Disability Support. A total of 197 projects from across the country entered the competition; after preliminary and semi-final rounds, 24 projects advanced to the finals. Following fierce competition, gold, silver and bronze awards were presented.
