WANG Jing, is a native of Mianxian County, Shaanxi Province. She currently serves as President of Hanzhong Open University (OU). In addition, she holds multiple national and provincial roles as deputy to the 14th National People’s Congress, member of the Hanzhong Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Vice Chairperson of Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy (CAPD), and member of the Education Committee under CAPD’s 15th Central Committee.
As President of Hanzhong OU, WANG has consistently dedicated to the education sector. During her tenure, she has actively advocated for advancing open education, vocational education, and education for older adults in Shaanxi, and the establishment of a learning society, contributing the OU’s institutional insight and expertise to these initiatives.
Education for children relies on high-quality talent. “China’s childcare services remain in its early stages, facing significant shortages in professionals in infant and toddler care services and management, and early childhood education,” WANG emphasised. During the 2024 Two Sessions, she proposed concrete measures including strengthening support for talent cultivation and vocational training in childcare institutions; supporting vocational colleges to offer programmes on Infant and Toddler Care Services and Management, as well as Early Childhood Education; encouraging professional social organisations to conduct childcare worker training programmes, thereby enhancing caregivers’ comprehensive competencies and professional expertise; establishing long-term mechanisms to ensure sustained improvement in childcare professionals’ qualifications and capabilities. Her suggestions have all received proactive responses from the relevant authorities.
In 2025, WANG continues to focus on the quality of talent development, specifically offering recommendations on improving the training quality of skilled talent. She stated that, as an NPC deputy, she would intensify studies on law to improve the performance of her duties, ensuring the policies genuinely respond to public needs.
