To support the construction of Digital China and carry out the project of cultivating students' core literacy in the Open University of China (OUC), the University Library (University History Museum) has made a comprehensive update to the digital literacy area (hereinafter referred to as the "area") on the official website of the "OUC Library ".

The area consists of three sections: " Micro-Courses Series on Database Usage", "Internet Literacy Courses", and "Reading Literacy", which are accessible to all faculty and students within the OUC system.

Digital Literacy Area

Section 1: Micro-Course Series on Database Usage

Micro-Course Series on Database Usage

This section aims to improve the library-using experience through micro-services and it shares practical knowledge such as database usage, information resource retrieval, literature research, and application of commonly-used software with all teachers and students in the university. In the first phase, 50 short-video courses are launched, each lasting 1 to 3 minutes, which enables teachers and students to flexibly use fragmented time for learning and master relevant skills.

Section 2: Internet Literacy Courses

Internet Literacy Courses

The courses in this section are designed around topics such as "Digital Life", "Artificial Intelligence", and "Big Data". The principal lecturers are all renowned experts from top-notch universities such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences or scientific research institutions. The courses are intended to help learners better adapt to the development of the digital society and actively integrate into and enjoy digital life.

Section 3: Reading Literacy Courses

This section invites well-known experts and professors from domestic prestigious universities and influential experts and scholars in the library field to conduct a series of online lectures around the theme of "Enhancing Reading Ability and Information Literacy". The lectures are designed to assist teachers and students in the system in mastering efficient reading methods, developing reading thinking, and strengthening their ability to process information efficiently.
