On the evening of 15 September 2024, local time in France, the 47th World Skills Competition concluded.

After intense competition, Xiong Shouyu, a student from the School of Civil Engineering at Chongqing Open University (Chongqing Construction Technical School), won the gold medal in the Plastering and Partition Wall System category. Wu Yanting, a student from the School of Media and Design at Chongqing Open University (Chongqing Technology and Business Institute), secured the gold medal in the 3D Digital Game Art category.

The World Skills Competition, held every two years, is one of the most prestigious, largest, and most influential vocational skills competitions in the world. Known as the "World Skills Olympics," it represents the highest level of vocational skills development globally and serves as a vital platform for members of the World Skills Organisation to showcase and exchange vocational skills.

The Chinese delegation achieved outstanding results in this competition, winning a total of 36 gold medals, 9 silver medals, 4 bronze medals, and 8 Honourable Mentions, topping the gold medal tally, medal table, and overall team score.
