Liu Yonghao, Han ethnicity, a native of Chengdu in Sichuan Province, graduated with a degree in Electronics from Sichuan Branch, class 1979.

He is a senior engineer and is currently a member of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), board chair and president of the New Hope Group, chair of New Hope Investments, chair of Sichuan New Hope Agriculture, chair of Shandong Liuhe, a supervisor with Minsheng Life Insurance, and deputy director of the Subcommittee of Economy of the CPPCC National Committee.

Since first being elected as a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in 1993, Liu Yonghao, now 73, has dedicated 32 years to serving in the "Two Sessions." Throughout this time, he has held the position of a CPPCC member for six terms and has also served as a deputy to the National People's Congress (NPC) for one term. Over the last three decades, he has submitted a total of 201 proposals or suggestions.

All the proposals and suggestions put forward by Liu Yonghao have received responses from the relevant departments, significantly influencing policy development, industry standards, economic growth, and societal advancement. Some of his proposals have even been adopted as national policies. Notably, his “Proposal on Stabilizing Live-hog Production Capacity, Reducing Cyclical Fluctuations, and Guiding the Steady Upgrading of the Industry” distinguished itself among more than 28,000 submissions. This proposal was recognised for its in-depth industry insight and constructive recommendations, earning the title of Excellent Proposal by the 13th National Committee of the CPPCC.

The private sector has been a pivotal force in China's economic transformation and development, and the flourishing of private enterprises has consistently been a key interest for Liu Yonghao. As one of the pioneering private entrepreneurs to be elected as members of the National Committee of the CPPCC following the reform and opening up, Liu Yonghao has been an advocate for societal support and care for the growth of private businesses, with a special emphasis on small and medium-sized enterprises. Throughout his service, he has persistently highlighted his concern for the development of private enterprises in his annual proposals.

At this year's National Two Sessions, Liu Yonghao presented six proposals, concentrating on boosting the private economy's vitality, advancing the high-quality development of the live-hog industry, backing agriculture with science and technology, implementing digital grain conservation, establishing a robust and efficient healthcare service system, and enhancing rural talent development. He highlighted current issues and offered focused recommendations for addressing them.
