Zhang Hong, Student of Class of 2013 Spring Semester from Henan Branch

Utilizing her knowledge gained from the Open University of China (OUC), Zhang Hong actively advocates for the implementation of an accountable nursing work model and actively contributes to nursing reform within the hospital. She proposes that in clinical practice, there should be a continuous reinforcement of high-quality nursing services, an enhancement of nursing staff's understanding of proactive care and humanistic approach, a deepening of the "patient-centred" working concept, and an overall improvement in the service effectiveness of the hospital's nursing team.

In both 2019 and 2021, Zhang Hong was honored with the prestigious title of "Excellent Nursing Worker" by the Xingyang Municipal People's Government. Furthermore, in 2020, she received the notable recognition as the "Xingyang City's Most Beautiful March 8th Red-Banner Pace-Setter in the Anti-Epidemic Campaign" from the Xingyang Women's Federation. Adding to her accolades, in 2023, Zhang Hong was distinguished with the title of "Advanced Individual in the Prevention and Control of the COVID-19 Epidemic" by the Xingyang Health Care Commission.

Yin Hang, Student of Class of 2019 Spring Semester from Heilongjiang Branch

Upon obtaining her junior college degree in 2008, Yin Hang made the deliberate decision to pursue a career in clinical pediatric nursing. In 2013, she embarked on a new path as a secondary school pediatric nursing teacher. Then, in the spring of 2019, Yin Hang made the choice to further her education at the OUC, pursuing an undergraduate degree in Nursing. Through her years of dedicated study at the OUC, her professional knowledge has significantly expanded, and her ideological consciousness has been greatly elevated.

Utilizing the knowledge acquired from her studies at the OUC, Yin Hang diligently applied her learning in practical settings. Over the past decade in her teaching position, Yin Hang has wholeheartedly dedicated herself to every class, earning the esteemed title of "Excellent Teacher of the School" multiple times. Additionally, she has been recognised as an "Excellent Teacher of the Tutoring and Learning Management System for Nurse Practitioner Qualification Examination." In 2021, Yin Hang also contributed to the compilation of the textbook "Pediatric Nursing," published by China Health Media Group. Her active involvement in this endeavor showcases her commitment to advancing the field of pediatric nursing education.

Zou Fengli, Student of Class of 2018 Spring Semester from Xinjiang Branch

In her capacity as the chief instructor of her department, Zou Fengli assumes the crucial responsibility for every intern under her guidance and ensures that no one is overlooked. With meticulous attention, she goes above and beyond to provide comprehensive care for each patient, assisting them in overcoming any challenges they may face. Zou Fengli's unwavering dedication and commitment to her work demonstrate her exceptional level of professionalism and compassion.

In 2018, Zou Fengli enrolled at the OUC to pursue a bachelor's degree in Nursing. After her graduation, she obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree. She successfully applied her theoretical knowledge to practical situations, demonstrating tangible results through her thesis and implementing it in clinical work to benefit patients and enhance the efficiency of the nursing staff.

Zou Fengli obtained the national utility model patent "ECG positioning connector dedicated for PICC" in 2020. In 2022, she was invited to write a paper for the "National Conference on Intravenous Infusion Technology" organised by the Chinese Nursing Association and also received an invitation to attend the conference. Additionally, she was recognised as an "Excellent or Advanced Individual" in the annual assessments from 2020 to 2022.

Hu Yanjing, Student of Class of 2016 Fall Semester from Shaan Xi Branch

Hu Yanjing, an undergraduate nursing student of the Class of 2016 at the OUC, has been involved in clinical nursing for 18 years and health management for 20 years. Her studies at the OUC not only enhanced her knowledge of the nursing discipline but also deepened her passion for the nursing profession and strengthened her commitment to serving patients for the betterment of their health.

In her work, she organises and conducts a wide range of healthcare lectures and activities for different groups of individuals, including primary and secondary school students, corporate employees, patients, and community residents. Through these initiatives, she effectively imparts health concepts and knowledge, benefiting diverse audiences and promoting better health awareness.

She also actively promoted online health education to engage a wider audience in the dissemination of medical science. The live health interview she participated in was recognised with the awards for Outstanding Organisation Unit and Outstanding Activity of National Science Popularization Day in Shaanxi Province in 2022, as well as the Outstanding Activity of National Science Popularization Day in Xianyang City in 2022.

Chi Wei, Student of Class of 2019 Fall Semester from Beijing Branch

 

Chi Wei, an undergraduate nursing student from the Class of 2019 at the OUC, has dedicated 31 years to working in pediatric nursing. She consistently prioritizes the best interests of the children, demonstrating her genuine passion for her profession. With exceptional professional skills and the inherent love and patience of a nursing professional, she serves the children with utmost dedication and care.

In March 2020, Chi Wei, as a member of the first batch of the medical team, served as the medical team leader and temporary Party branch secretary at Beijing Children's Hospital while supporting the Beijing Xiaotangshan Designated Hospital. In July 2021, Chi Wei embarked on a one-year assignment in Tibet as part of the "Targeted Assisting to Tibet" programme. During this time, she led the nursing team at Lhasa People's Hospital and successfully developed the hospital-acquired infection control design for the mobile cabin hospital, marking the hospital's first nursing-related design in this area. Additionally, Chi Wei also applied for the hospital's first nursing patent during this period.

She received several prestigious accolades including the 2022 Capital Outstanding Nursing Worker award, the Outstanding Achievement Award in Aid to Tibet, the Outstanding Beijing Aid to Tibet Cadre recognition, and the Outstanding Communist Party Member title. She has also been repeatedly honored as an Outstanding Nurse of the Hospital and has been recognised as a Star of Pediatric Nursing on numerous occasions.
