Shi Wenmei has been working diligently in her various positions for 30 years since joining the company in 1993. She started as a wire embedding worker in the most basic level electrical workshop, and has been continuously striving to perfect her skills while pursuing further studies. She overcame professional difficulties that are unimaginable to ordinary people, such as difficulty in understanding the motor structure and working principles, and gradually grew into an electric motor expert who is capable of developing products independently. She is also enthusiastic about passing on her knowledge to others.

With her unique persistence and perseverance, Shi Wenmei has achieved numerous accomplishments in her 30 years of work. She has been involved in over 20 major international, national, or provincial scientific and technological projects, and has received over 100 national and provincial scientific and technological achievements. She has also led the development of five regional and enterprise standards and the application for over 60 patents…

The year 2023 holds a special significance for Shi Wenmei, as she has been selected as a deputy to the 14th NPC. “Being a deputy to the NPC is not only a political honour but also a heavy responsibility,” she says. Prior to the convening of the two sessions of the NPC and CPPCC, Shi Wenmei frequently visited grassroots communities, dropped in on families for on-site investigations, and held repeated discussions with Party members and grassroots workers to revise her suggestions that will be submitted to the NPC.

What suggestions did Shi Wenmei prepare for this year’s NPC? "My suggestions focus on the construction of a demonstration zone for high-quality development and common prosperity, and promoting excellent practices such as ‘Central kitchen of the Yangtze River Delta in Nanxun,' the social relief and assistance system ’ and 'the Silicon Valley of Agriculture in the Yangtze River Delta,'” she answered straight to the point.

Shi Wenmei said that promoting common prosperity and improving people's livelihoods are common aspirations of the people.

"Currently, the problem of imbalanced and insufficient development in China remains outstanding, and there is a large gap in regional development and income distribution between urban and rural areas. The foundation and conditions for promoting common prosperity vary from region to region, and promoting common prosperity for all is a long-term arduous task. As a demonstration zone for high-quality development and common prosperity, Zhejiang Province has made obvious progress in exploring solutions to imbalanced and insufficient development. Many valuable experiences can be replicated and promoted nationwide," said Shi Wenmei.
