The OUC website and its official WeChat account will present the accomplishments of some of the top head teachers in order to publicise their roles as pacesetters, promote respect for teachers and their work within the OUC, enhance their feelings of responsibility and mission, and improve the quality of the management and services provided by teacher teams at the OUC.

Zhao Yue, a member of the Mongol ethnic minority, was born in Tongliao, Inner Mongolia. She is a lecturer and a teacher, and graduated from the College of Foreign Languages at the Inner Mongolia University for Nationalities with two degrees. In September 2006, she joined the English department of Tongliao Radio and TV University (Tongliao RTVU), and was put in charge of seven classes in both the junior-college and undergraduate programmes. She is now director of the university's administration office.

Educating students with firm faith and self-discipline

Zhao Yue displays integrity and kindness as a teacher, and loves the educational principles of the Communist Party of China. She adheres strictly to its standards, strives constantly for self-improvement, never fails to complete tasks assigned her, and is all in all a role model as both teacher and CPC member.

Zhao Yue’s motto in her work is: "All for the students, and for all students". This is both her starting point and goal. She also believes in being true to oneself, and constantly striving for excellence; she loves education, is assiduous and meticulous in her work, and does her best to serve both teachers and students. Her objectivity and fairness are esteemed by students, as her patience, painstaking efforts, and persistence are by her leaders and colleagues. She takes the lead at work, and sets an example for others. Between 2016 and 2018, she was named an "Excellent Communist Party Member", "Advanced Party-building Individual (2016-2017)", "Excellent Party-affairs Worker" and "Excellent Head Teacher" by the Inner Mongolia branch.

Providing and enhancing services with enthusiasm and devotion

Since 2015, Zhao Yue has taught 7 classes: junior-college in spring 2015 and both junior-college and undergraduate in spring 2016 - 2018. All of her enthusiasm is for her students and teaching, and her efforts, with help from university leaders, have given her classes and students a strong and positive dedication to learning.

The work of a head teacher in open education is very complicated. Zhao Yue's work includes giving out teaching materials to students, reminding them to complete online assignments and make good use of online resources, asking students about problems with their studies and offering help with problem-solving, telling them to make appointments for examinations and to pay attention to information updates on the university website, and giving timely notifications. The work may seem trivial, but it requires wholehearted devotion.

Unlike at a normal university, students in continuing education are also workers, and the head teacher has the duty to help them deal with the time constraints this can lead to. Zhao Yue requires her students to strictly abide by university regulations, and to have a positive attitude to their studies and clear objectives. Some of them have been out of school for many years and are especially unfamiliar with online learning; Zhao Yue uses a variety of approaches to help them adapt, teaching them basic computer skills and useful habits. She requires students to take the initiative of checking their courseware regularly online and working on it independently whenever they have free time. Under her guidance, students become familiar with the courses and the methods of online learning, and they learn to enjoy studying independently. In order to help her students, Zhao Yue is constantly working to enhance her approach to all aspects of her work.

Zhao Yue has a deep love for education, her university, and her students. She is dedicated to her job, is rigorous in her studies, and abides strictly by the ethics of the teaching profession. She is both capable and devoted in management and other forms of service, can skillfully use information technology in her teaching and management, and has made gratifying achievements as a teacher.
